Hip and the Lip debate the degree of impact that Odell Beckham’s actions may have on the New York Giants going forward following the team’s win over the Baltimore Ravens.  They then back off from a possibly brewing New York Jet quarterback controversy following Ryan Fitzpatrick’s debilitating performance against the Arizona Cardinals.  The Hip enjoyed the irony surrounding Josh Bailey’s hecklers at the Islanders’ home opener against the Anaheim Ducks.  After some baseball playoff discussion, the Lip asks the Hip about the new MacGyver series.

Both downstate New York football teams are now under .500 heading into week 6 of the NFL season. Hip and the Lip then discuss some highlights of the MLB playoff divisional series. The Lip breaks down the Islanders’ roster moves leading up to tomorrow night’s season opener against the New York Rangers and his expectations for the 2016-2017 Islanders.

Hip and the Lip bid the New York Mets’ 2016 season adieu as the Mets sustained a tough loss in the Wildcard game against the San Francisco Giants.  The Lip has some tough words for a ho hum New York Giants performance on Monday Night at the Minnesota Vikings.  The Hip then provides his bleak outlook for the New York Jets.  Finally, the Lip educates us about some younger players looking to crack the New York Islanders’ opening day roster, as the Islanders’ regular season begins in less than a week.

Hip and the Lip get into the New York Mets’ bid for a wildcard spot, and then they mourn the loss of Marlins pitcher Jose Fernandez.  The Lip gives his breakdown of the New York Giants’ loss to divisional foe Washington Redskins.  Moving onto the New York Jets, the Hip is taken aback with Ryan Fitzpatrick’s turn for the worst against the Kansas City Chiefs considering Fitzy’s great play against the Buffalo Bills the week prior.  Finally, the Lip discusses storylines at the New York Islanders training camp.

Episode 29 – Jets Backs Against the Wally

Hip and the Lip discussed the event we’ve all been waiting for: the World Cup of Hockey! Back to normal programming…with the Yankees and Mets hanging around in the MLB playoff race.  Hip and the Lip then dissect the Jets’ tough loss against the Bengals and the Giants’ win on the road against the Cowboys.  They also preview the upcoming week 2 games of Jets at Bills and Giants against the Saints.

The Hip and the Lip preview the upcoming 2016-17 seasons for the New York Giants and New York Jets.  The Lip has choice words for the NFL and the Giants for their handling of the Josh Brown situation.  The Hip and Lip then ask each other to evaluate three NFL players’ fantasy prospects.

The Hip and the Lip evaluate the Yankees’ trade deadline moves and General Manager Brian Cashman’s intentions for the team over the next few years.  They then touch upon the lacking excitement surrounding the Yankees-Mets Subway Series.  The Hip then covers in excruciating detail the state of daily fantasy sports in the U.S., particularly today’s very significant development in New York.  The Hip then recalls a sports pastime and its possible revival.

The Hip and the Lip come out firing with a dismissal of the “breaking” Islanders news.  Then the Hip delivers his longest podcast soliloquy on the New York Jets’ fresh re-signing of Ryan Fitzpatrick.  The duo then covers the Aroldis Chapman trade, and naturally end up discussing the excitement surrounding Chapman’s new team.  They then pay homage to two new MLB Hall of Famers and discuss a potential future Hall of Famer who is having a historic season.  Finally, they delve into some New York Knicks talk with the retirement of Amare Stoudemire.
